Théâtre Aphasique—speaking for those who can’t speak for themselves.

According to a 2012 Ontario survey, only 2% of respondents knew that aphasia is a communication disorder that hinders the ability to speak, understand, read, and write. To increase awareness about aphasia, the Théâtre Aphasique team put together an advertisement for people with aphasia. This advertising message mainly attempts to associate the term aphasia with a communication disorder resulting from a brain injury. Six troupe actors generously took part in this project: Pierre Crête, Jacinte Giroux, Lina Parent, Caroline Pelletier, Pierre Provencher, and Sylvie Samuel. The production team specifically thanks Sandra Dalhie Goyer, Christian Laurence, Isabelle Panet-Raymond, La Cavalerie, and RAPAQ for their involvement. This project could not have happened without their support. We particularly thank Mr. Guy Nadon for speaking about the cause.
